2015 Health, Fashion & Fitness Trends

Posted: Feb 04 2015

The New Year is off to an amazing start and over at the Climawear HQ, we’re so excited for what the upcoming months have to bring. There’s so much to look forward to and to get you prepared, we have listed down the top health, fitness and fashion trends that we're going to be keeping an eye out for in 2015.

  • Body Weight Training

Move over Zumba.. 2015 is bringing back the simplicity of Body Weight Training. Predicted by the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM), this affordable, easy and effective workout is taking us back to the basics and we love it. With no equipment other than your athletic wear, it doesn’t get simpler than this.

  • The runner up: HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training)

If you didn’t hop on the bandwagon in 2014, you certainly will in 2015. Alternating high periods of short intense anaerobic exercises with recovery periods (think Tabata, Crossfit), you’ll need to make sure to gear up with the proper exercise clothes to maximise your performance because HIIT is the runner up that will get you sweating.

  • The best body is the one you have

Yes! This isn’t necessary new, but it’s going to be strongly reaffirmed in 2015 and we can definitely get behind this one. Yes, looking good is important, but even more important is feeling good and doing the best you can for you. After all, we only have one body so let’s treat it right.

  • Juice, Juice, Juice!

Are you having trouble squeezing in your daily dose of fruits and veggies? Juice them! It’s the easiest way to include more of them in your diet, especially if you’re bored with your usual salad. Try making them 3-part veggie and 1-part fruit and include some source of protein (Greek yogurt, flaxseed, peanut butter etc..) to limit your calorie intake.

  • When Fashion meets Fitness

If you didn’t know it yet, 2105 will be all about bringing fashion to workouts. And there’s an important reason for this: the fitness apparel you wear during your gym time play a big part in deciding how you view and feel your journey. No, the gym isn’t a runway, but your sportswear will help you associate positive feeling with working out, keeping you motivated and focused while you move.

  • Let social media motivate you

With so many inspiring people with phenomenal stories reuniting on social media, it has become a great destination for creating a support system, finding cute workout outfits, motivation or health/fitness tips and tricks. Whatever you’re going through, we guarantee someone else has lived it and discussed it on social media. If you don’t already, come join us on Facebook Twitter and Instagram!
