Make the Most Out Of Your Pilates Class
Posted on abril 22 2019

Pilates can help you de-stress and build muscle mass with just a few exercises. Not only is it good for your body, but it also helps with your posture, boosts core strength, and eases back pain.
Once you’ve signed up for your very first Pilates class, the key is to continue and keep going back for additional sessions.
Here are a few tips to help you get the most out of your Pilates classes!
Effort & ReturnEvery exercise involves the “effort phase” and “return phase.” Mostly, we’re able to put all our effort into actually going for a Pilates class and completing a session successfully. It might take some convincing and some pep talk, but it’s much easier to attend the first session.
The real dilemma arises once we’re done with the first session and have to prepare ourselves to go back. The “return phase” is difficult to pull off as we’re fresh off the Pilates high and our muscles are contracting and our body is aching all over.
The only thing that’ll work is mind over matter. Double the effort and look back at the reasons why you need to return to your Pilates session. Convince yourself of the benefits of Pilates and once you start going for it, each session will become easier.
Maintain Your PaceOnce you start with your Pilates classes, maintain the same pace and follow the same exercise routine for a period of 1–2 months to help your body adjust to the new postures.
If you erratically increase or decrease your pace, your muscles will protest and your body aches will increase with the added pressure from going too fast.
Listen To Your InstructorThe best thing you can do to maintain your focus is listening to your instructor. If they’re critiquing your posture, understand that they know Pilates better than you do and can guide you better.
Don’t let petty things like ego get in the way of following instructions and completing your Pilates session successfully!
Wear Appropriate ClothingOne of the most important factors to ensure a successful Pilates session is activewear. Make sure you’re wearing stretchy seamless leggings that’ll help contort your body in different shapes.
Wear a quality sports bra for added support and to reduce the bounce factor during the session.
Moreover, you can also invest in form-fitting tank tops that’ll help your instructor see the muscle alignment of your back for correct posture and poses.
Now that you’re well aware of how to navigate a Pilates class successfully, buy women's sports leggings and low impact sports bra for easy stretch and movement.
